일요일 오후, 초가에서 한인 장로회가 모여 새로운 회장을 선출했다. 미국 국기와 태극기를 향한 경례를 시작으로, 초대 회장이셨던 정공수 회장님께서 인사 말씀을 전해주셨다. 그는 참석하신 모든 분들께 감사의 인사를 전한 뒤 다음 발표자에게 순서를 넘기었다. 그들은 작년 한 해 한인 장로회의 전반적인 진행 상황에 대해 설명한 뒤, 경제적 실정과 선물들에 대해 설명해 주셨다. 정공수 전 회장님께는 그간의 수고와 헌신에 감사하는 명판이 전달되었다. 차후 회장의 역할과 의무에 대한 설명을 마친 뒤, 그들은 열 명의 회장 후보들을 발표했다. 전원 만장일치의 결과로, 새로운 한인 장로회 회장, 정영로 회장님이 선출 되었다. 기도를 마친 후 그들은 이른 저녁 식사를 했다. 새로운 회장 선출을 진심으로 축하 드리며, 한인 장로회의 평온하고 행복한 한 해를 기원한다.
On Sunday afternoon, our senior citizen community gathered together at Choga and elected their new president. They started their meeting with a salute to our American and Korean flags and a word from the newly retired president, (Chung Jung-su 정공수). He thanked everyone for coming and handed it over to the speaker. They gave an overview of their past year and financial contributions and gifts. A plaque of service was given to Mr. Chung for his term as president of the senior community. Then they explained the duties of the president and the ten nominees. After an unanimous vote, the speaker announced their new president, (Jang Young-ro 정영로). They served an early dinner after prayer. We congratulate the new president and hope for a great new year for the senior community.
